STEP Summer ProgramSTEPScholars will receive additional academic enrichment opportunities to accelerate a student’s learning from outside the traditional classroom setting. Continuous Learning Plans with grade-level goals will be used to measure our scholars' academic improvement in literacy and math. Scholars will have the opportunity to join a variety of camps and clubs that interest them. Additional Info: Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided. Summer- Credit RecoveryCredit Recovery & AccelerationThis summer, Credit Recovery sessions will be offered to help students earn the necessary academic credits. In partnership with Insight Online School of Minnesota, courses are offered virtually. On-site study hall, meals, and transportation are offered to interested students. Age Group: Students entering grades 10-12 in fall 2026. Eligibility: Students must be enrolled at BCCS to participate. Program Dates: June 15th - July 23rd Program Time: Times may vary (On-site Study Hall Hours 8:45 am - 1:15 pm) Cost: Free Transportation: Provided for those who qualify. Breakfast and Lunch: Provided to all participants. Registration: Click here to register. In addition to your registration, students should work directly with their school counselor to determine their course needs and complete their enrollment in summer credit recovery courses. Wrap Around Pre-K Child CareOur Before & After Pre-K Child Care Program provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young learners and is designed for children ages 4-5, attending Pre-K at Brooklyn Center Elementary School. Our program offers structured activities that promote creativity, social development, and early learning, all while ensuring a smooth transition between home and school. In the morning session, children enjoy a warm and welcoming start to their day with quiet activities, storytime, and hands-on learning that prepares them for a successful school day. Our caring staff fosters a calm and supportive atmosphere to help children ease into their morning routine before starting their day at Pre-K. In the afternoon session, after a busy school day, children unwind with play-based activities, arts and crafts, music, movement, and outdoor exploration. Our dedicated and experienced staff ensures that every child feels safe, supported, and engaged in an enriching environment that fosters independence, creativity, and a love for learning. Whether before or after school, our program offers a comforting extension of your child’s school day, giving parents peace of mind and children a place to thrive. Transportation Information: Brooklyn Center Community Schools will provide transportation to and from Brooklyn Center Elementary (BCE) for students enrolled in both AM or PM Child Care and Pre-K who live within the district boundaries. Students who live outside of the district are also not eligible for transportation, regardless of program enrollment. Young Kings Corner Grades 4-5STEPIn collaboration with InTENtions Enrichment Center, this program offers mentorship for young boys coming of age, connecting them with male mentors who reflect their cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
